Allyson and Andrew met in high school biology class. After Andrew graduated he joined the Marines while Allyson finished high school. The couple dated while Allyson attended University of Arizona and Andrew fought in Afghanistan. During their wedding ceremony October 29, 2015, friends talked about how the couple complimented one another.
To marry the man she loves, Allyson wore a fitted vintage-style strapless dress with empire waist and floral detailing. The maid of honor wore a plum purple dress while the other two bridesmaids wore violet purple knee-length dresses. Andrew wore his military uniform for the ceremony. Standing by Andrew’s side at the ceremony was his best man who fought alongside the groom in Afghanistan. The experience made them life-long brothers. The best man and groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black ties and white shirts. The bride’s uncle and godfather conducted the ceremony.
At the reception each table had one chair with a picture of the bride and groom on the bottom of the chair. The guest sitting in that chair ‘won’ and was given the table’s centerpiece. The couple also had a globe out for people to sign instead of a guest book and a mailbox for those who wanted to leave cards.
Their first dance was to Ho, Hey by the Lumineers followed by the father & daughter dance to My Little Girl and the mother & son song to Have I Told You Lately. Throughout the night the couple sipped from engraved champagne glasses, while blue up-lighting personalized the space. At the couple’s table was a sign Better Together. A three-tiered wedding cake was served covered with shimmering buttercream frosting and decorated with fondant succulents.
For fun, a photo booth was set up for friends and family but to remember all the important people in their lives, a group photo was taken with all the guests during cocktail hour.
As the couple was leaving, friends and family formed a good luck sparkler circle to send the couple off. Congratulations Allyson & Andrew. May your love for one another burn brighter as the years pass. We wish you the best.
