The Force was with us in droves during this Saturday, January 30, 2016, wedding ceremony and reception. A repeating purple-and-silver color scheme and Star Wars theme overlaid the wedding day of Tara and Chris.
Tara’s dress was a flowing, floor-length Mia Solano wedding gown topped with a semi-sweetheart neckline and veil pinned in her swirling brown hair. The bridesmaids modeled soft sage, tea-length dresses while holding bouquets of roses in shades of white and purple. These stunning bouquets matched a unique garment of the bride and bridal party: Vans Old Skool Suede Skate Shoes in purple.
Chris and groomsmen also slipped into Old Skool Suede Vans, this time in black. These were coordinated with charcoal grey suits and white ties matching the white roses pinned to their lapels.
The outdoor ceremony was held by fireplace, lead to by a stark white carpet flanked by purple and white rose petals. Chris’ aunt officiated the newlyweds’ unique glass ceremony. The ceremony’s program came emblazoned with a Rebel Alliance symbol, and Tara and Chris then donned a Darth Vadar and Storm Trooper masks for some spectacular photos.
Dinner was plated, and included tenderloin, mashed potatoes, ravioli pasta, and steamed veggies. The wedding cake was vanilla with vanilla frosting, and came adorned with three-dimensional purple blossoms, and Star Wars characters like Boba Fett, R2-D2, and Han Solo frozen in carbonite. A suited Darth Vadar and Strom Trooper in a wedding dress and veil topped the three-tiered cake.
Tara and Chris’ first dance was to “Giving It All (To You)” by Haley & Michaels. The Father/Daughter Dance was to “I’ll Be Your Man” by Zac Brown Band, and the Mother/Son Dance was to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
During his toast, the Best Man advised the guests to never fight with Tara in a pool, but added how she is an amazing person, and she and Chris are perfect for each other. Also during the reception, the DJ asked questions about the bride and groom, resulting in the raising of red or green Lightsabers depending on the answer. Guests parted with Star Wars key chains.
Much like the framed, kissing AT-AT Walkers at the reception, Tara and Chris are sure to spend the rest of their time on Earth together, and possibly in a galaxy far, far away.
