Shellie and Thomas were married on Friday, February 26, 2016.
Shellie donned a Mariée Bridal wedding gown, complete with a mermaid hem and sweetheart neckline. Her lengthy veil was pinned in her spiraling blonde hair, and she clutched a posy-style bouquet of soft pink roses and white hydrangeas – as did her six bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid wore a floor-length, light-pink sheath gowns with sweetheart necklines and thin straps. Only the Maid of Honor wore a cap-sleeved dress.
Thomas and his groomsmen sported three-piece suits in solid black, complete with black neckties and white shirts. The groom’s suit was accented with a white pocket square.
The outdoor ceremony’s officiant was one of Thomas’ groomsmen, who said, “Treat each other like best friends, and try to laugh often.” Shellie’s son Jaeden was a junior Best Man, and walked the Mother of the Bride down the aisle.
During dinner, each table had a team captain elected to answer questions about Shellie and Thomas – and correct answers released the table to the buffet. Dinner consisted of spring mix salads, creamy pesto pasta, and pasta martini. For dessert, guests enjoyed cake pops and homemade desserts like raspberry cheesecake and apple cobbler. The wedding cake was a three-tier blush and white-colored cake with a “B” cake topper for the Brendels.
During toasts, the Best Man, Kevin, remarked how Thomas is a true friend, and how marriage is about finding the person you can’t live without. The Mother of the Bride wanted to recognize the parents for how they raised the bride and groom, while the bride’s brother Cameron said he was excited for their future together. Shellie’s son asked the crowd to raise their sodas to “my mom and Thomas.”
Shellie and Thomas’ first dance was to “Yours” by Russell Dickerson. The lively reception also featured the Newlywed Game, the Anniversary Dance, and a fun group photo.
Well wishes to the newlyweds!
