Yesica and Thomas met while working at the same college, and after a few months Thomas knew she was the one. In June 2010, he told her how he felt, and they were married on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Yesica modeled a wedding gown from Demetrio’s in Scottsdale, complete with a sweetheart neckline with illusion V-neck and a mermaid hem – and all encrusted in jewels. She held a posy bouquet of soft pink and white roses, and baby’s breath. Her eight bridesmaids held a smaller version of the same, and donned gowns of gold sequin from David’s Bridal in mini, three-quarter sleeve dresses to sleeveless, sheath gowns.
Thomas sported a dark blue three-piece suit with a white dress shirt and black bowtie, plus a simple white rose pinned on his lapel. His eight groomsmen wore slightly lighter blue versions of the same.
During the ceremony, the officiant quoted John Lennon, saying, “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.” Yesica and Thomas celebrated their lifelong commitment with a unity candle, and it was said they are unique people who wore chosen to be bound together as one.
Dinner started with salads of baby greens wrapped in cucumber strips with mandarin oranges and fresh berries, sugared walnuts, feta cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette. The main course included grilled salmon and chicken scaloppini with steamed vegetables and twice baked potatoes. The vanilla and chocolate, four-tiered wedding cake was white, gold, and light pink in color, with a glittery gold cake topper reading, “Best Day Ever.”
The Father of the Bride gave a toast in Spanish about how proud he is of his daughter. Jasmine, the Maid of Honor and Yesica’s twin sister, said the groom loves her sister the way she deserves to be loved. David, the Best Man, told a story of when Thomas came to his house grinning about a girl he had met, and now they’re married.
The First Dance was to “When a Man Loves a Woman” by Percy Sledge, followed by a Father/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son Dance. There was also fingerprint guestbook, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, and favors that included small, personalized bottles of wine.
We wish all the best to Yesica and Thomas!
