Kelsey and Dustin met while playing basketball at Pacific University. Kelsey was injured and Dustin began going to physical therapy with her, and carrying her books. Classic. They were ultimately married on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Kelsey modeled a hand-sewn bridal gown from Elegant Reflections Alterations in Mesa. Her dress featured a boat neckline with illusion sleeves and a stunning train. A short, sheer veil was pinned in her spiraling blonde hair. She also held a small, posy bouquet of white and soft pink roses, and stood atop bejeweled, satin blue heels. Her 10 bridesmaids all wore unique, royal blue dresses.
Dustin sported a two-piece black suit with a white dress shirt and royal blue tie with a silver tie bar – plus a white rose on his lapel. His groomsmen matched his attire.
Kelsey and Dustin’s outdoor ceremony featured a giving of personal vows. Kelsey said she is lucky she found such a caring man that was there for her when she needed it. Dustin promised to always love her and never leave her. The significance of marriage was also expressed: “Love comes from you, but marriage comes from God.”
Though it was a come-and-go wedding, the reception featured memorabilia from both Kelsey and Dustin’s early basketball days.
A Nothing Bundt Cakes dessert served as the wedding cake, surrounded by BoSa Donuts. A husband, wife, and basketball cake topper crowned the whole thing. There was also a help-yourself candy table with dishes of mini Crunch bars, M&M’s, and Snickers.
Guests were treated to bags of candy as favors, and Kelsey and Dustin left under the signature sparkler farewell. We wish these two the best as they shoot for the stars. Enjoy your honeymoon on Coronado Island.
