Sydney and Mark were married on Friday, August 5, 2016.
Sydney modeled a simple yet stylish, lace-textured sheath gown with cap sleeves, a high neckline, and a fingertip veil. She held a hand-tied bouquet of white roses and hydrangeas, as did her seven bridesmaids –each donning a lavender gown with short sleeves and floor-length skirts. Mark sported a grey suit with a white dress shirt, and a black necktie and pocket square. His groomsmen wore dove-gray suits with purple neckties.
Sydney and Mark had an indoor ring ceremony where there was also a live harp player, and the aisle was lined with glowing white candles. The officiant was the groom’s father, who was asked to oversee the ceremony by the bride and groom.
The reception started with appetizers like Brie, Caprese bruschetta, and some assorted sushi. A salad with raspberry vinaigrette started off a dinner of herb-roasted potatoes and green beans with chicken marsala and beef tenderloin.
The elegant, three-tiered round whitewedding cake was chocolate and red velvet in flavor with vanilla almond frosting. The cake was also adorned in full white roses and accented with greenery. There was also a dessert bar with mini cheesecakes, cupcakes, and chocolate covered strawberries.
During toasts, the bride’s brother wrote a poem for Sydney and Mark. The Maid of Honor, Sydney’s younger sister, talked about all the fun times she and her sister had, and how Sydney packs a good punch. One of the groomsmen, Chad, was roommates with Mark, and talked about how wonderful Mark treats the women in his life. Mark’s mother also spoke, and thanked Sydney for being such a lovely young woman. Mark’s brother Paul said Sydney will be great with Mark. The Maid of Honor, Jen, has been best friends with Sydney since first grade, and had some honest yet funny things to say about the bride.
Sydney and Mark’s First Dance was to Dan + Shay’s “From The Ground Up.” The Father/Daughter Dance was to “Two Rivers” by The Adventures, and later, the MOH and bride did a dance together to “Stronger” by Britney Spears.
Guests were treated to succulents at each place holder as favors, and were encouraged to share their moments on social media with the hashtag #makemeamcallister.
Sydney and Mark left under the signature sparkler farewell. Best wishes to the bride and groom.
