Lauren and Matt met in high school in 2004, and were married on Saturday, September 17, 2016.
Lauren modeled a sleeveless, lace overlay wedding gown from David’s Bridal with a mermaid train and an elbow veil. She wore lace-textured, peep-toe heels, later swapped out for silver bedazzled Keds. Her bridesmaids modeled navy, Queen Anne-style sheath gowns. The Maid of Honor sported an asymmetrical sheath gown in a bold orange. Each bridal party member held a bouquet of white, orange, and purple roses and tulips.
Matt sported a black, two-piece suit with an ivory necktie and orange flower on his lapel. His groomsmen wore black suits with blue neckties and pocket squares, while the Best Man wore an orange necktie and pocket square. Each groomsmen had a white rose adorning his lapel.
The officiant of the short, outdoor ceremony was a cousin who talked briefly about how the couple met, and how in love they are with each other.
Dinner started with Caprese salads, followed by chicken Galliano or slices of beef tenderloin with confetti grilled vegetable ravioli and potatoes au gratin. The three-tiered round cake came with extra-fine detailed frosting and flowers from the wedding, plus a Denver Broncos SuperBowl 50 homage on the back of the dessert.
During toasts, the groom’s best friend, also Matt’s Best Man, talked about when he knew the groom was interested in Lauren, and wanted to be good for her. Matt’s little brother Paul, who was also a groomsmen, said he was very excited for them. Lauren’s bridesmaid Amber said she was excited for Lauren to be creating a beautiful life. A friend of Lauren’s brother who has now passed also spoke, and said there is something special about marriage and the journey they are about to embark on.
Lauren and Matt’s First Dance was to “She’s Everything” by Brad Paisley, which was followed by a Father/Daughter dance. The guest table had puzzle pieces for the guests to sign in on, which the couple gets to put together later. Guests were also treated to personalized bottles of olive oil as favors.
Lauren and Matt left under the signature sparkler farewell, and we wish them all the luck in the world.
