Erica & Marvin ~ September 10, 2016

Erica and Marvin met while working at the Maricopa County Courthouse and were married on Saturday, September 10, 2016.

Erica donned a Brilliant Bridal wedding gown with an A-line skirt and sweetheart neckline. A beaded ribbon was belted around her waist, and she held a bouquet of pink and white roses. Her four bridesmaids modeled coral sheath gowns with semi-sweetheart necklines, plus shimmering silver necklaces. The Flower Girl sported a white, sleeveless, tea-length dress with white stockings.

Marvin wore a gray suit with black trim, complete with a coral vest and necktie over a white shirt. He also donned a coral pocket square. His groomsmen wore gray, three-piece suits with coral neckties.

The outdoor ceremony was held at the end of a plush red carpet, and their young son was pulled to the front in a decorated wagon. The officiant said, “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world,” and also talked about the ability of the couple to nurture their marriage by saying “I love you” once a day. A sand ceremony was performed, and Erica and Marvin also recited their own vows.

Dinner began with a blessing and prayer by Erica and Marvin, and courses started with Caesar salad. The entrée included braised beef short ribs or chicken in olive oil, garlic, and herbs, with sides like twice-baked potatoes. The three-tiered white wedding cake was adorned in pink flowers and white piping on all layers.

During toasts, the Best Man, Mike, talked about how Marvin is genuinely a nice guy who’s always asking how he can help, and who was there for him when his mother passed away. Andrea, the Maid of Honor, talked about how Erica has always had her back, and how they had a great friendship while growing up together. Molly, a close friend of Erica, said she was thankful Erica’s family has grown to include Marvin.

Erica and Marvin’s First Dance was to “At Last” by Etta James, which broke out into Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” – flashmob style with the groomsmen. A Father/Daughter Dance followed. During the reception, the new couple also played their own version of the Newlywed Game.

We wish Erica and Marvin nothing but happiness in their new chapter together.
