Elizabeth and Chris were married on Friday, November 11, 2016. They met in high school, and reconnected through Facebook years later.
Elizabeth donned a lace-textured wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline and thin straps. She wore a lengthy veil, and stood atop bedazzled black sling-back heels. She held a rounded bouquet of magenta-colored dendrobium orchids, which matched the lace-textured sheath gowns of her six bridesmaids. The bridesmaids held bouquets of white dendrobium orchids.
Chris wore a blue suit with a white dress shirt, white necktie, and white pocket square – all nicely matched with brown leather shoes. His six groomsmen wore purple and blue patterned neckties and matching pocket squares.
The “unplugged” wedding ceremony was held at the end of a white carpet lined with red rose petals. The groom’s sister opened the ceremony with a reading from the Bible. A ribbon was also looped around the bride and groom to symbolize their unity as one forever.
Dinner was catered by Babbo’s, which included napa salad, pasta primavera, fresh bread, and more. The three-tiered wedding cake had a bottom layer covered in sprinkles, a middle layer with a white fondant bow, and a top tier with the date in gold roman numerals. A cake topper read, “Chris and Elizabeth.” During the reception, guests were asked to use the hashtag #takemetoshelleytown when sharing on social media – which was also monogrammed on magenta cocktails napkins throughout the reception.
For toasts, the Father of the Bride thanked the guests for coming, and told the groom how special he was and welcomed him to the family. He also read a letter the bride gave him the morning of the wedding. The Father of the Groom thanked the minister, and told a story about teaching Chris how persistence can get you everything, even the girl of your dreams. A bridesmaid talked about how the bride is an amazing example, and how the groom became “One of the girls.”
Elizabeth and Chris’ First Dance was to Josh Heinrichs’ “New Love.” The Father/Daughter Dance was to “Daddy Dance With Me” by Krysta Keith, and the Mother/Son Dance was to “Solamente Una Vez.”
Congratulations to the new couple, and we hope Elizabeth and Chris have an amazing time in Puerto Rico for their honeymoon
