Ela and Anthony met on Cinco De Mayo in 2010 when they were introduced through the bride’s sister. After several years together, they were married on Friday, October 7, 2016.
Ela modeled a champagne-colored wedding dress with a ballgown skirt made of tulle, a sweetheart neckline, and a flower-beaded belt. She wore a sheer elbow veil, and held a posy-tied bouquet of white and light pink roses and plum calla lilies. Ela’s 10 bridesmaids donned plum, floor-length gowns with halter necklines and matching bouquets.
Anthony sported a charcoal gray suit with a plum bowtie and a white rose on his lapel. His 10-member groom party – complete with one groomswoman – wore gray suits with purple neckties.
During the outdoor wedding ceremony, Ela and Anthony were told of the idea of two souls unifying and meeting. The officiant talked at length about the couple’s journey thus far, and the couple recited their own vows. They also performed a sand ceremony.
Dinner started with two mixed salads, followed by penne pasta with sundried tomatoes and cream sauce, spiral pasta with pesto sauce, seasoned rolls, and chicken and sausage in a mushroom sauce. The three-tiered white wedding cake came with gray detailing and a monogrammed “S” on the middle tier.
Toasts were given by a number of guests. The Best Man has known Anthony since 1998 – they’ve been through good and bad times together – and he told funny stories about them growing up together. The Maid of Honor has known the bride since high school, and Ela is the best friend she has always wanted. The Mother of the Groom also spoke, and said she is very happy for the couple. The Father of the Groom told the couple to seize the moment.
Ela and Anthony’s traditional First Dance was to “All Of Me” by John Legend. The reception also offered a photobooth, and bubbles as favors.
We wish Ela and Anthony all the best in this next chapter of their life.
