Alisha and Robert met while playing the dice game Farkle on Facebook, and were eventually married on January 29, 2017.
Alisha’s wedding gown came from Strut Bridal, and was an Allure dress in a custom cut and color that featured a sweetheart neckline and hues of ivory and champagne. Her bouquet included white roses and other botanical elements in her wedding colors of gray and blue. Her three bridesmaids wore gray halter tie-neck dresses and carried round arrangements of white roses suspended from glass chains.
Robert and his two groomsmen sported gray suits. Robert’s tie was white, while his groomsmen wore subtly striped ties. All three men wore white rose boutonnieres.
The ceremony featured a reading from the Book of Corinthians. Alisha and Robert mixed together pieces of glass in a single vessel to symbolize the joining together of two lives. The glass would later be blown into a vase as a keepsake. Alisha handmade the decorations for the ceremony, and the couple’s dog was also in attendance as a special guest.
Alisha also made the winter themed centerpieces for the reception. Guests enjoyed a buffet-style dinner that included mixed greens with julienned carrots, tortellini primavera, fresh green beans, and sliced beef tenderloin with cognac cream and horseradish aioli.
Alisha and Robert danced their first dance as a married couple to “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz. Alisha and her father danced to “In My Life.” The bridal party took to the dance floor to the sound of “Unforgettable.”
Robert’s best man, Jeremy, shared stories of how he and Robert met and became close friends, and how Robert and Alisha started getting serious as a couple. He toasted to eternal happiness. The maid of honor, Alisha’s college friend Andrea, described Alisha as kind, loving, and honest, with a big heart. She wished that they would always encourage each other and promise to love each other, even when hard times come. Alisha’s father, Steve, thanked all the guests for coming to the wedding.
The wedding cake was a four-tiered round cake in the wedding colors of gray and navy with a falling snow effect. A large letter “C” and a topper with overhanging snowflakes and jewels also decorated the cake.
As a surprise for everyone, Alisha secretly rented a snow machine so the couple’s send-off would look like a Winter wonderland.
Alisha and Robert are looking forward to an Alaskan cruise honeymoon this summer, and we wish them all the best.
