Shanshan and Xuan were married on Monday, December 19, 2016.
Shanshan modeled an off-shoulder wedding gown with long sleeves, a full skirt, and a corset back. The gown was covered in beads and embroidered designs. She wore a pearl choker, and held a hand-tied bouquet of red hydrangeas, pink roses, and succulents. Her two bridesmaids wore short sleeve, tea-length gowns in blush pink with laced bodices and smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Xuan sported a three-piece, royal blue suit with a blue patterned tie and a plush red rose on his lapel. His two groomsmen wore two-piece black suits with unique, blue pattern ties and white roses on their lapels.
The outdoor wedding ceremony was held at the end of a red carpet trimmed with red petals. It was said, “A wedding is when you are surrounded by the most special people in your lives.” A verse was quoted from Corinthians, and couple read their vows and performed a unity sand ceremony.
During the reception, Shanshan changed into a traditional Chinese dress. Dinner later included a mixed greens salad with raspberry vinaigrette. The meal was followed by a three-tier white wedding cake with intricate designs on the top and bottom layer, and the monogrammed letters “YW” on the middle tier. It was decorated with red hydrangeas, pink roses, and succulents.
During toasts, the Father of the Groom gave a speech in Chinese, which was translated to say he is thankful for all the guests who attended, and told his son to take care of and cherish his wife. The Father of the Bride also spoke in Chinese, which was translated to say he is thankful for the woman his daughter has become, and thanked the groom’s family for the exceptional man Xuan has become.
Shanshan and Xuan danced to a classical instrumental piece. There was also a Father/Daughter Dance, and a Mother/Son Dance. Guests were treated to small boxes of chocolates as favors, and a video of the bride and groom played during the reception.
We wish Shanshan and Xuan all the happiness in the world.
