Derrick and Jessica became man and wife on December 30, 2016.
Jessica chose two dresses for the big day: one, a fit-and-flare gown with flower-appliques and a beaded belt, and the other a ball gown-style dress with a full tulle bottom and a strapless bodice accented with beading and embroidery. She wore pearl earrings, a pearl bracelet, and a pearl necklace. Her bouquet included flowers and greenery in shades of red, pink, and white. Her three bridesmaids wore dramatic black dresses with boatnecks, low backs and sequined tops.
Derrick and his three groomsmen sported three-piece suits; Derrick wore a black vest, black bow tie, and white rose boutonniere, while the groomsmen’s vests and traditional ties were gray, and their boutonnieres were red roses.
Jessica walked down an aisle lined with red and white rose petals, and during the ceremony, she and Derrick wove together three strands of rope to signify their hope for a strong marriage.
Inside the reception, guests had fun trying out the photo booth and enjoyed a meal of salad, chicken stuffed with prosciutto and cheese, beef bourguignon, and twice-baked potatoes. In lieu of favors for the guests, the bride and groom sponsored a child with cancer.
Jessica and Derrick shared their first dance to “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett. Jessica and her father danced to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, then Derrick and his mother danced to “A Song For Mama” by Boyz II Men.
During the speeches, Derrick’s best man, Drew, spoke about finding “the one,” while his groomsmen Chuck and Brandon talked about their friendship with Derrick. Jennifer, Jessica’s sister and matron of honor, presented her new brother-in-law with a WWE belt.
The wedding cake was four tiers decorated in white and gold with flower accents. The groom’s cake was decorated the colors of Auburn University, burnt orange and navy blue — as was the bride’s garter!
The couple departed the reception in a vintage Porsche with a honeymoon in St. Lucia and a beautiful future to look forward to.
We wish Jessica and Derrick a lifetime of luck and love!
