Raquel and Jesse, who met at a college Bible study at University of Arizona, were married on May 27, 2017.
Raquel chose a romantic lace gown with cap sleeves, back cutout, and a train. She accessorized with drop earrings and a beaded headpiece. Her bouquet incorporated white anemones and other white flowers along with dark botanical accents. Her four bridesmaids wore identical dark blue full-length gown with halter necklines, and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Jesse sported a gray suit with gray vest, white bow tie, white pocket square, and white anemone boutonniere. His four groomsmen wore gray suits with gray vests, blue bow ties, white pocket squares, and white rose boutonnieres.
At the ceremony, the officiant said that marriage is two people joining hands to serve and follow God. A bridesmaid sang “In Christ Alone,” and Jesse and Raquel read personalized vows to each other.
Inside at the reception, guests dined on a southwestern salad with chipotle vinaigrette dressing, pork loin with cilantro aioli, grilled chicken breast with chipotle glaze, grilled peppers, and Santa Fe rice.
During the speeches, the best man complimented Jesse’s big heart and steadfastedness, and advised him to be flexible, gracious, and patient in his new marriage. Raquel’s brother thanked her for always being there for him, and one of the bridemaids said that it was an honor and blessing to get to know the couple.
Jesse and Raquel danced together for the first time as a married couple to “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett. Raquel and her father danced to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, and Jesse and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
The four-tier white wedding cake included two plain levels and two levels decorated in a paisley design. White roses and gold beads added extra decoration. The custom cake topper featured the couple in silhouette, along with their dog.
Raquel and Jesse left their special day under the signature sparkler send-off. We wish the newlyweds a long life filled with joy and magic!
