Brenna and Lucas, who met through mutual friends at Grand Canyon University, were married on June 2, 2017.
Brenna wore a gorgeous strapless Lillian Lottie lace gown that featured beaded details, a sweetheart neckline, and a train. She accessorized with a hip-length veil, heart pendant necklace, and chandelier earrings. Her bouquet mixed several varieties of white, pink, and purple flowers with eucalyptus leaves. Her nine bridesmaids wore flowing, halter-neck, full-length pale purple dresses, and carried modified versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Lucas looked sharp in a gray three-piece suit with a patterned tie and mixed-bouquet boutonniere. His nine groomsmen wore gray three-piece suits with hunter green ties and mixed-bouquet boutonnieres.
In the indoor ceremony, Brenna and Lucas prayed together, took Communion, and lit a unity candle to symbolize their new status. The officiant encouraged them to remember that two are better than one, and that marriage is like starting a new life, and to have fun with it.
For dinner, guests enjoyed a salad of mixed greens with goat cheese crubmles, spiced pecans, pomegranate seeds, sliced oranges, and balsamic dressing, along with grilled boneless breast of chicken filled with prosciutto and provolone cheese finished with lemon beurre blanc sauce, grilled Atlantic salmon with hollandaise and lemon dill beurre blanc finished with crème fraiche and sturgeon caviar, roasted potatoes, and green beans.
Many friends and family spoke during the toast. Brenna’s sister and maid of honor said that she admires Brenna’s passion, and that Lucas gives the best advice; Lucas’s brother and best man told a story about how welcoming Brenna was the first time he met her; Lucas’s other brother said that he and Lucas were raised to date women who make them stronger and better; Lucas thanked his and Brenna’s parents for their love and support; Lucas’s father read a letter he wrote to Brenna’s parents; and Brenna’s father told stories from her childhood.
Lucas and Brenna danced their first dance as a married couple to “I Do” by Noah Dickerson. Lucas and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
The four-tiered wedding cake included two white levels with silver accents, one plain white layer, and one light purple layer. It was topper with a mini “Mr. and Mrs.” banner.
Brenna and Lucas honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We wish the newlyweds nothing but love and joy in the future!
