A Love that Ages Like Fine Wine
Lauren and Gene first met in 2016, but at their wedding this past March, it was clear that their love has only grown in the past five years.
The couple chose a chic color palette of navy and copper for the big day, and these rich tones looked lovely against the greenery in our Plaza Toscana. Gene and his groomsmen looked sharp in their suits of navy pants, cream jackets (Gene wore gray), and fun navy bowties. Lauren’s bridesmaids wore long, navy gowns with lace bodices. And of course, our bride was a vision in white, wearing an a-line style gown with a beaded back and full skirt.
The ceremony was a sweet, traditional affair — with one notable exception. Lauren and Gene included a wine ceremony in the celebration. They sealed a bottle of wine into a box, which they intend to open later at a special time in their life together. With that beautiful, romantic sentiment, it was time to call our couple “officially husband and wife!”
The reception was filled with great food, great music, and lots of fun. Lauren and Gene danced their first dance to a song called “Inevitable,” and then handed the stage over to musician Jeff Ocheltree for a stellar performance! During the evening, guests enjoyed a meal of baby green salad, green beans with toasted almond slivers, braised beef short ribs, and caprese chicken (yum)!
Lauren and Gene’s officiant told us that their wedding was a reminder that love does have a “happily ever after.” Well, if you ask us, that would have been clear simply by looking at this couple’s adoring smiles as they looked at each other! Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love, and we are so glad we got to be a part of it.
