Lauren and JW were married on June 19, 2021.
Lauren chose a gorgeous sleeveless A-line gown with spaghetti straps, a sweetheart neckline, a lace bodice, and a train. She accessorized with a Y-shaped leaf necklace, drop earrings, and a cathedral-length veil. Her bouquet was composed of white flowers and a variety of greenery. Her bridesmaids wore matching full-length light pink sleeveless dresses with V necklines and ruched bodices. They carried modified versions of the bride’s bouquet.
JW looked handsome in a burgundy suit with black lapels, a black shirt, a burgundy bow tie, and a mini bouquet boutonniere. His groomsmen wore blue suits with blue vests, white shirts, light pink ties, light pink pocket squares, and mini bouquet boutonnieres.
In the outdoor ceremony, Lauren and JW performed a sand ceremony to symbolize the joining of their lives.
Later, guests enjoyed a meal of classic Caesar salad with pear tomatoes, romano cheese, and a Parmesan cheese crisp; grilled chicken with chipotle glaze topped with tropical fruit salsa; flatiron steak with chimichurri sauce; mashed potatoes; and grilled vegetables.
In lieu of a guestbook, attendees signed small wooden hearts. The signature cocktail was a Dunbar’s Sunset, made with Hennessy, X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, sweet and sour mix, strawberry, and mango.
A number of guests gave toasts for the couple.
JW and Lauren’s first dance as man and wife was to “I Found Love” by BeBe and CeCe Winans. Lauren and her father danced to “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown. JW and his mother danced to “Never Would Have Made It” by Marvin Sapp.
Other wedding fun included an anniversary dance, a money dance, bouquet and garter tosses, and a photobooth.
The four-tier wedding cake was done in a pink and white marble effect. The first and third layers were round, and the second and fourth layers were hexagonal. The cake was topped with a custom ornament featuring the couple’s last name and wedding day.
We wish the newlyweds a long and beautiful life together!
