Alyssa and Enrique: A Love Like Fine Wine
Alyssa and Enrique first met in college, and their instant connection has only gotten better with age (like a fine wine). So, it’s only fitting that their wedding day was decorated with shades of burgundy!
On the big day, the Plaza Toscana was decorated in shades of red. The red aisle runner was covered with burgundy flower petals, and the altar was filled with floral arrangements in white and burgundy. The bridesmaids were also wearing the color of the day, sporting floor-length, one-shoulder burgundy gowns. Enrique and his groomsmen wore blue tuxedos with burgundy ties and vests. And of course, Alyssa was a beautiful bride, wearing a lacy empire waist gown with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline.
Alyssa’s maid of honor was also their officiant, leading the couple through their vows and other unique wedding traditions. The couple participated in “las arras matrimoniales,” a tradition in which the bride receives 13 gold coins from the groom. They also had a lasso ceremony to symbolize their everlasting union!
Soon, the couple were officially married (yay!) and the Plaza Toscana was transformed into an outdoor reception space. Guests enjoyed a dinner of mixed greens salad, fresh green beans with slivered almonds, potatoes au gratin, caprese chicken, and flat iron steak with green chimichurri sauce. There was dancing, laughter, and even a special video from the groom featuring the NICU nurses who recently cared for their son.
Alyssa and Enrique’s special day was truly beautiful, and we suspect that their love will keep on getting better with age.
