Kelly and Tom brought a woodland theme to their wedding at Villa Siena April 11, 2013. The couple met through mutual friends and from there love grew.
When Kelly’s mother first saw her daughter in her gown on the morning of her wedding, she shed a few tears. Kelly looked fabulous in a strapless gown with rouching across the front and a skirt that swirled into ruffled flowers. She wore satin slippers with roses on them and a veil with beaded edging. The bouquet mixed pink, coral and hot pink roses. Kelly’s bridesmaids helped her with the finishing touches in navy dresses, each top in a different style.
At the guest table, there were pictures of the couple’s parents taken on their wedding day. There was also a beautiful picture frame with pictures of loved ones and the inscription ‘we know you would be here today if heaven weren’t so far away.’
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and brother to meet her groom. Tom wore a grey tuxedo with white shirt and tie. As part of the ceremony, the couple lit a unity candle that was made of birch bark with a heart holding the couple’s initials. Kelly and Tom wrote their own vows.
In order for guests to locate their table for the reception, they had to find their name on a tree where each leaf was the name of a guest. On the tables there were bird shaped table numbers.
During the reception, the bride chose a flower for her hair instead of her veil. Kelly and Tom smiled and danced their first dance to Cold Play’s Green Eyes. Because Kelly’s father was in a wheelchair, the couple decided to do a slide show instead of a father/daughter dance.
The wedding cake had a tree theme that wove up through each tier. On the trunk of the tree was a heart with ‘K+T’ in it. On top were two wooden birds. One wore a tuxedo and one had a veil with a pearl necklace.
Congratulations Kelly and Tom. May your love grow like a tree reaching for the sun and may your friendship remain rooted in the soil of compassion and understanding.
