Kristina & John ~ January 30, 2015

Kristina and Jon married January 30, 2015. During the wedding ceremony the officiant read from Dr. Seuss’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go. He also spoke of the couple’s first date, where the day was cut short because Jon agreed to help a friend move. When Kristina offered to help as well, Jon knew she was the one. When Jon was ready to propose, he snuck a personalized video at the end of the Lego movie telling Kristina all the reasons he loved her. She accepted his proposal.. An Irish blessing and a sand ceremony were also included in the ceremony. The groom and his best man high-fived as the groom accepted the wedding rings from him.

For the wedding, Kristina wore a David’s Bridal strapless wedding gown with light pink lace detailing and buttons down the back. A pearl necklace and never-ending smile added light to the ensemble. Underneath the dress was a black lace garter with blue bow. The bridal bouquet was filled with blush and white roses. The groom was dapper in a light grey tuxedo with white shirt and bowtie. Bridesmaids wore different shades of the same dress in pinks, champagne, mint green and baby blue, while the groomsmen wore superhero shirts under their tuxedos.

When guests arrived at the Villa they were greeted with a vintage theme. On the welcome table sat an antique typewriter, telephone and antique suitcases. Along with the vintage theme was a slight Batman theme with the bride wearing a pair of graphic design Batman flats under her wedding gown, while the groom wore a Batman watch. Throughout the day, more Batman themed details appeared with a Batmobile for the groom’s cake and the flower girl entering the reception in a Batmoblie to surprise the groom.

At the reception, chairs were covered with lace and jars with purple bows and jewels adorned the tables. After the wedding ceremony the bridal party posed under an unusually rainy Arizona sky. A few drops of moisture did nothing to dampen anyone’s spirits. In fact, the addition of umbrellas added a whimsical touch to the wedding photographs.

The couple’s first song was to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. Sweet treats included the wedding cake featuring a Lego topper to remind the couple of Jon’s proposal and a Sparky’s Old Town Creamery ice cream cart. Favors were antique keys.
