When Amber and Spencer were fifteen years old, a mutual friend from church camp introduced them to one another. March 8, 2015 the couple was married at Villa Siena.
Amber glowed as she walked down the aisle towards her husband-to-be in a Watters wedding gown from the Wedding Bells collection. The strapless white gown with lace edging at the bottom and lace detail across the bodice accentuated the bride’s silhouette. A diamond fascinator was affixed to Amber’s hair in lieu of a veil. Ranunculus mixed with white roses for the bridal bouquet. Adding a touch of spring green, in light lime knee-length dresses with varying necklines, the bridesmaids were by the bride’s side throughout the day. A pink ranunculus was tucked into each bridesmaid’s partial up-do. The groom and groomsmen also embodied spring with Spencer in a beige tuxedo, white shirt, vest and bowtie. His groomsmen were also in beige tuxedos but had light lime ties instead of white bowties.
The ring bearer began the ceremony by walking down the aisle carrying Mickey and Minnie stuffed animals. Then came a sweet girl carrying a sign saying, Here Comes the Bride followed by the flower girl tossing petals. During the ceremony, the couple took communion and enacted the braiding of the cord ceremony. “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken,” Ecclesiastes.
The bonds of friendship and love were apparent throughout the ceremony with the maid of honor talking about how the groom is like a brother to her and how her sister has always been there for her. The best man, who initially introduced the couple, talked about how the groom was like a brother from another mother.
After dinner, an elaborate four-tiered wedding cake was served. The bottom tier was white cake with cannoli cream, the second layer was chocolate peanut butter, the third layer vanilla lemon raspberry and the top layer white cake with cannoli cream. The exterior of the cake was decorated with 24k gold foil and pink fondant flowers.
To make photo sharing easy, the couple created the hashtag #happilyeverCalahan. Favors were potted succulents with the guests name and table number on a tag in them. Congratulations Amber and Spencer. May each day of the rest of your lives bring you closer and closer together. We wish you the best.
