Colleen & Chris were married at Villa Siena April 20, 2012. The happy couple had some unique touches at their wedding that we can’t wait to share with you. The first was the bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets. Instead of using flowers, they used felt cutouts of flowers. The bride’s bouquet was sage green and ivory, while the bridesmaids had some yellow daisies and muted purples in theirs along with white felt roses and greenery. What a great way to preserve nature and have a keepsake from the wedding that you don’t have to worry about falling apart. This is the type of bouquet that could be passed down from mother to daughter. Colleen and Chris also chose candles to decorate the alter instead of a floral centerpiece. This allowed the architecture of the alter to shine through, while the choice of candles added a personal touch. Great idea. During the reception, the couple got to play the Newlywed Game. What a fun way to find out how much the couple knew about each other while keeping the guests entertained. Instead of the traditional cake, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were served. This offered guests the best of both worlds – chocolate or vanilla. This is sometimes done with cake layers being different flavors. But now, onto the bride and groom. Colleen wore a fitted mermaid-style gown with soft off-the-shoulder straps. The empire waist was followed by lace detailing outlining her slender figure and then sweeping into lace ruffles that flowed out into her train. Her hair was gently pinned up with a few diamond accessories and the rest left in loose curls. She looked radiant for the day, while her bridesmaids brought a summery feel to the festivities with knee-length green dresses. The groom was stylish in grey with a white shirt and white tie. Their photographer took full advantage of Villa’s Siena’s architecture, posing the couple throughout with a high-fashion quality image of the bride lying across the Villa’s grand piano, lit by votive candles with her husband leaning in for a kiss. In fact, the couple stole intimate moments throughout the day. Fabulous! The couple’s first dance together was Over My Heart. A live guitarist kept guests entertained. Favors consisted of biscotti, cookies and CDs. Music carries so many memories and will be a reminder of what a wonderful wedding this was. Thank you for sharing your memories and your wedding day with us. Congratulations, Colleen and Chris.
