February 8, 2014, a couple, introduced by friends several years ago, married at Villa Siena. Kathrine and Brent filled the day with their gentle love. For the ceremony the bride wore a strapless gown with shimmering beaded detailing. To accompany the dress, the bride chose a veil with scalloped lace edging over blonde curls. A pearl necklace added to the classical look. Kathrine’s bouquet mixed purple and white roses and hydrangeas and had a framed picture tied to the satin wrap. Her bridesmaids wore full-length strapless gowns in a muted shade of eggplant. The groom looked dapper in a black tuxedo with white shirt and white tie. His groomsmen also wore black tuxedos but sported black ties for black shirts instead of white.
Along the aisle, purple and white flowers were sprinkled. A beautiful floral arrangement adorned the altar, surrounded by candles. The ceremony was presided over by the bride’s cousin. As part of the ritual of merging two lives into one, the couple performed a sand ceremony. During the recessional, friends and family tossed flower petals in the air as the bride and groom passed.
At the reception, purple up-lighting personalized the space. Flowers in tall standing spaces and candles embellished each table. During dinner a string quartet played.
A Photobooth added fun to the night. After dinner the newlyweds were tested in their knowledge of one another with the ‘shoe game,’ where the bride and groom each have one of their own shoes and one of their spouse’s. They answer questions by raising the shoe that represents the correct answer.
The first dance was celebrated with Celine Dion’s Because You Loved Me.
A stunning wedding cake with four tiers of cake embossed with curlicues burst with fresh flowers on each tier while black ribbon finished the look. A crystal M sat atop the cake. Favors were cheesecake bites wrapped up in purple boxes with green ribbon.
Congratulations Kathrine and Brent. May your lives be filled with love and gratitude throughout the years to come. We wish you the best.
