Lindsey and Shelley met in high school during track and field. Despite being from different cities, they still ended up marrying their high school sweetheart. The couple chose March 15, 2014 as their wedding day. During their vows they talked about how they met.
Lindsey was a beautiful bride! She wore her hair down for the ceremony and pinned it up for a different reception look. Under her gown open-toed blue velvet stilettos brought the ‘something blue’ to the look. Lace overlaid the bride’s strapless gown in a more traditional silhouette. A diamond belt complimented her diamond necklace. Lindsey’s bouquet brought the sunshine of orange sunflowers, pink and purple roses and gerbera daisies together. Her bridesmaids wore coral strapless dresses with flowing bodices. All were given turquoise necklaces as bridesmaid’s gifts. For the wedding ceremony and reception, Shelley wore a black tuxedo with black tie and vest and white shirt. The couple had sunglasses made that said Bride and Groom across the lenses. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with coral ties and vests.
On the altar, snapdragons, sunflowers, roses and more added a pop of color to the white marble. Red and orange flower petals lined a white runner. As Lindsey walked towards Shelley she glowed.
The welcome table was filled with pictures of the couple lit by votive candles. For those guests who wanted to be remembered through photographs, a photo booth was available.
The couple’s wedding cake was a five-tiered affair with decorative frosting and pearls around each layer. A custom bobble head topper of the bride with her groom in football gear sat atop the cake, as an ode to Shelley’s being a professional NFL football player. The cake offered different flavors in the different layers. Red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting alternated with almond infusion cake with almond cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting, followed by chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and buttercream frosting. For those who didn’t get their fill of dinner, a late night snack and cookie table offered sweet treats throughout the reception.
Glow sticks were available for guests during the reception. To celebrate the couple the bride’s three sisters, her father and the best man all gave toasts.
Congratulations Lindsey and Shelley. May the loved that began at such a young age continue to flourish throughout your years together.
