Elizabeth and Shad went to high school together, but only officially met years later on the stair master at the gym. They were married March 27, 2014.
Before the ceremony the couple stood around the corner from each other so they wouldn’t see one another but could still hold hands in a quiet moment.
As guests were seated, a string quartet played. Shad made his way to the front of the room wearing a black tuxedo with white shirt and black bowtie. He was followed by his groomsmen who wore black suits with black ties. Then the bridesmaids took their places across from the groomsmen wearing black above-the-knee dresses with lace sleeves, lace backs and black heels. Elizabeth made her grand entrance wearing a silk gown with sleeves and V-neck. The back of the dress boasted a keyhole opening with buttons flowing down the full skirt and into a train. A brooch brought a vintage look to the dress. Instead of a traditional veil, the bride wore a tulle fascinator. Bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids combined white roses, greenery and berries.
The ceremony took place indoors in the Chianciano room. A highlight of the occasion was when the Minister talked about how the couple met.
The reception took place outside where the tables were decorated in white with tall-standing bouquets. The couple had their own table with Mr. & Mrs. on it, votive candles and a framed picture of the couple.
Elizabeth and Shad recognized both sets of grandparents before the toasts. Then the best man, maid of honor, bridesmaid and one of the groomsmen all gave speeches.
The first dance was to All of You by John Legend. For the father/daughter dance, I Loved Her First was chosen. To round up the family dances, Shad and his mother danced to You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban.
Delicate fondant lace decorated a three-tiered wedding cake with a fondant bow wrapped around. Favors were green and white heart-shaped lollipops with a ‘thank you’ tag.
Congratulations Elizabeth and Shad. May your days be filled with the smiles and warmth that marked your wedding day. We wish you the best.
