There is something auspicious about the start of something, and so perhaps it was a sign that the bride and groom’s names both start with the first letter of the alphabet. Annah and Andre celebrated a fall wedding October 23, 2014. The couple chose a rustic theme for the wedding using pumpkins and roses for decoration.
Annah wore a strapless gown with a pin-tucked skirt and crystal embellishment at the waist. Her hair was worn in a half up-do with no veil. A diamond necklace twinkled in the light. Her bouquet was filled with cream and pale pink roses, rust colored orchids and a hint of green.
Andre wore a tan tuxedo with rust colored tie and rust colored orchid pinned to his lapel. His groomsmen also wore tan colored tuxedos. Two groomsmen wore black ties while the other two wore white ties. The bridesmaid’s dresses came from David’s Bridal. All the dresses were the same style, but each bridesmaid wore a different color including eggplant, champagne, lavender and deep copper. The dresses were strapless knee-length silk.
During the ceremony, the couple spoke of their commitment and the symbolism of their rings, being circular and thus never ending, like their love.
The altar was adorned with a pumpkin and two floral arrangements, which mimicked the table settings that showcased mini pumpkins, acorns and floral arrangements with vases tied with burlap and white satin ribbon. Lanterns with cut out stars were lit by votive candles.
The wedding cake was three tiers, each wrapped with burlap and white satin ribbon. On top, twigs were shaped in two ‘A’s’ with a twig heart between them.
At the couple’s table, framed chalkboards were decorated with ‘Bride’ and ‘Groom’ with a heart below each. During the speeches, the father of the bride wished the couple a good “voyage” and an “abundance of health and happiness.”
During the traditional first dance to The Shape of Us by Ian Brit, fireworks shone in lights on the wall. Flip-flops were set in a basket for guests to dance comfortably. Favors were decorative key-style bottle openers.
Congratulations Annah and Andre. May your lives be held together by new beginnings and the endless commitment of love. We wish you the best.
