Twenty-five years after Celia and Carlton first married the couple renewed their vows in a touching ceremony. The couple chose a very traditional ceremony that involved all their children. A wedding prayer was proffered; a unity candle lit and the couple exchanged coins. A portion of the ceremony was given in Spanish. Celia was still a blushing bride, wearing the same gown she wore for her original wedding. The dress featured puffed sleeves, a train with lace details and scalloped edging. A headband with veil completed the look. She carried a bouquet of varying violet, lavender and deep purple flowers with a silver and crystal 25 in the bouquet. Carlton wore a black tuxedo with purple vest, white shirt and purple tie.
A framed picture of the couple at their original wedding personalized the day, as did many other items from that special day including cake cutters, pictures and their original wedding video. During the reception a mariachi band played while the couple’s name shone in lights on the wall and purple up-lighting reflected the purple color theme of the day.
A blessing was given before dinner and during speeches the couple’s son thanked them for being amazing role models. Another one of their children played a song on the cello for them. The father of the bride gave a toast in Spanish while the brother of the bride said he was thankful to have had another brother for the past twenty-five years.
The first dance was to Always and Forever followed by a family dance, a dollar dance and a parent’s dance.
Their three-tiered wedding cake was decorated in deep purple fondant cake with silver pintucks on alternating layers and a white bow with white scrolling on the second tier. Cake flavors were chocolate, red velvet and vanilla. On top a ceramic cake topper of a boy groom carrying a girl bride was placed. A candy table was also available for those wanting a little more sweetness.
Congratulations Celia and Carlton. May the qualities that kept you together for twenty five years keep you together for much longer than twenty-five more. We wish you the best.
