Allison & Ben ~ January 18, 2014

Starting off the New Year with love, Allison and Ben were married January 18, 2014. The couple met at a Valentine’s Day costume party and later got engaged in Hawaii. On their wedding day, guests were welcomed to Villa Siena with a reception table where cardboard cutouts of the couple’s dogs sat.

Allison wore a strapless wedding gown with a fitted bodice sparkling with sequins and beading. The skirt of the dress flowed into long ruffled layers. The bride’s hair was worn down with a veil edged by crystal beading. A bouquet of red roses contrasted with the bride’s white gown. Allison’s bridesmaids wore dresses of turquoise silk that came to the knee. They also carried red rose bouquets. Ben chose a black tuxedo with white shirt and bowtie. A red rose brightened his lapel. The groomsmen were dressed in classic black and white.

The wedding and reception were both Disney themed. The programs for the day had Minnie facing Mickey with a heart between them. During the ceremony the couple took a moment to remember loved ones who had passed. They also sealed letters in a box with wine to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

The reception featured a Disney themed photobooth. Each table was identified by a Disney character name. On top of the five tiered wedding cake, with curlicue frosting wrapped with turquoise ribbon and fresh red roses, sat porcelain Mickey and Minnie figurines with the saying And they lived happily ever after.

The wedding cake wasn’t the only cake of interest. The bride had a groom’s cake made to look like Clark Kent’s shirt opening to reveal superman’s costume. Behind the groom’s cake sat a sign reading Best friends for life, husband and wife.

Instead of a traditional dinner the couple served breakfast including French toast, bacon, cheese blintzes, muffins, eggs, fruit salad and more.

Bryan Adams’ Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman played for the couple’s first dance followed by the father/daughter dance to Rainbow Connection and the mother/son to You’ll Be In My Heart. Friends of the couple danced a Chinese lion dance, with elaborate headpieces with silver and red costumes while drums beat and music played. Favors were cookies from Hawaii.

Congratulations Allison and Ben. May your days together be filled with the laughter and love that Mickey and Minnie shared and the strength of Superman. We wish you the best.
