Amanda and Michael, who met playing beach volleyball at Arizona State University, were married on April 22, 2017.
Amanda selected a romantic fit-and-flare sleeveless gown with a plunging back and embellished bodice. She accessorized with large drop earrings and a cathedral-length veil. Her cascading bouquet was composed of a variety of blooms in tones of white and blush, along with eucalyptus and other botanical elements. Her five bridemaids wore full-length, blush-colored dresses with heavily beaded sleeveless bodices. They carried modified versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Michael wore a black suit with a black bowtie. His five groommen wore black suits with silver vests and ties and white pocket squares. All the gentlemen wore blush-colored rose boutonnieres.
The reception featured a meal of baby greens salad wrapped in cucumber strips with mandarin oranges, fresh berries, crumbled feta cheese, candied walnuts, and raspberry vinagrette dressing, followed by filet mignon with Burgundy bordelaise and mushroom duxelle sauce; stuffed chicken breast marinated in olive oil, garlic, and herbs with an herb glaze; potatoes au gratin; and steamed seasonal vegetables.
During the speeches, Amanda’s parents reminisced about bringing her home from the hospital and how they always wished she would find someone they loved like a son. Michael’s mother teased him about making his bed, and expressed how happy she was to finally have a daughter. Amanda’s older sister shared congratulations and expressed hopes that God would bless their marriage, and the best man joked that until Amanda came in the picture, he expected that he and Michael would end up in a retirement home together.
Amanda and Michael shared their first dance to “From the Ground Up” by Dan + Shay. Amanda and her father danced to “My Little Girl,” and Michael and his mother danced to “Letter to My Mother.”
The three-tiered all-white wedding cake was a white almond infusion with almond cream cheese filling, and featured a different design on each level with a crystal trim around the base of each one. The topper was the couple’s last initial.
Michael and Amanda, who went on a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Islands, left the reception under the signature sparkler sendoff.
We wish the newlyweds all the best of what life has to offer!
