Angela & Andrew ~ June 2, 2013

June 2, 2013, Angela and Andrew joined us at Villa Siena for their wedding and reception.

As the Villa was readied for the ceremony, giant framed letters of L-O-V-E were placed on the altar. Purple petals floated in the fountain as the red runner leading to the groom was lined with an assortment of pink, orange and purple rose petals.

When Andrew took his place at the altar, all eyes were on him in his grey tuxedo with purple and silver striped tie. Although guests couldn’t see, his purple argyle socks added fun to the ensemble.  Next to him stood his groomsmen also in grey tuxedos with purple and white striped ties.

All had handmade purple flowers in their lapels. The groom’s son began the ceremony by carrying a sign reading ‘Here comes the bride.’

Bridesmaids filed down the aisle to take their place across from the gentlemen in knee-length purple dresses with a single shoulder strap. All the ladies wore their hair in up-dos.

When Angela made her appearance, all eyes quickly flew to her. Her wedding gown was a beautiful tea-length affair with sweetheart necklace and A-line silhouette. The dress had soft floral detailing across the bodice of the dress and along the top of the skirt, while rouching swept across the waist. Purple heels completed the look with pearl earrings and a diamond necklace. The bride’s hair was pulled back with a flower fascinator. Angela carried a bouquet of bright purple, coral, orange and hot pink mixed flowers.

The ceremony was in the morning so brunch was served at the reception. Omelets, waffles, bacon, muffins, mimosas and blood Marys were all served.

The wedding cake was layers of pancakes stacked high, dusted with powdered sugar and dripping with syrup, while guests were given ice cream and fresh fruit.

Favors were mad libs and pencils. Adults all got pencils wrapped in a ribbon that read ‘some things just go together. One pencil was white with bells attached with ‘Angela & Andrew’ engraved on it. The others read things like ‘salt & pepper, eggs & bacon, mile & cookies.’ A coloring table was set up for kids.

Instead of a guest book, guests were asked to sign a large wooden ‘W.’ The couple danced their first dance to I Won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz. Then Andrew surprised Angela by having his friend play guitar and sing during the father/daughter dance. Toasts were accompanied by champagne for the adults and milk and cookies for the kids.

As a final farewell, the couple had a purple and white balloon sendoff.

Congratulations Angela and Andrew. May your wedding day be the first of many amazing memories in your new life together.
