Angela & Rod ~ February 10, 2013

February 10, 2013 was a fantastic day for Rod and Angela’s wedding. The couple first met at work and the relationship bloomed.  As guests were being seated, Angela prepared for her walk down the aisle. The bride looked beautiful in a gown with lace overlay that came down into a V-neck. A high empire waist flowed out into a traditional A-line skirt. Angela was glowing. The bride’s mother walked Angela down the aisle as all attention focused on her.

Rod looked the perfect match for his bride in a black tuxedo with satin piping, a white vest and tie. The couple performed a sand ceremony, where Rod’s children came up and were asked to take Angela as their mother. Angela gave the three girls necklaces and their son a pocket watch during the ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore purple dresses of different styles. Bouquets were a mix of roses, orchids and calla lilies. Purple orchids could be found throughout the venue, from the alter, where they alternated with white candles to centerpieces in the dining room where tall vases filled with water encased a branch of orchids. These bright flowers also adorned the couple’s three-tiered wedding cake, which alternated two patterns. Each layer was wrapped with purple ribbon and crystals and topped with a miniature couple gazing into each other’s eyes.

For the first time as husband and wife, the couple danced to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, which was an Italian wedding dance. As they sat at the head table, hand-painted wine bottles, painted by Rod, denoted the bride and groom’s seats.

Kids were well taken care of with a table of their own and special activities to keep them entertained. Their table also had a bottle of wine, but this one was made with lollipops. A dessert table tantalized guest’s taste buds.

The bride’s mother gave a wonderful speech that ended with ‘anything you say may and will be used against you. You may now kiss the bride.’ For adult entertainment, Angela and Rod played the Newlywed Game.

Favors for the guests were wine stoppers individually wrapped in gold boxes with purple ribbon.

Congratulations Angela & Rod. May you share smiles and love for a thousand years to come.
