Annie & Joe ~ October 26, 2012

Annie and Joe joined us at Villa Siena October 26, 2012 for their wedding ceremony and reception. The couple’s color scheme embraced fall with black and purple as their main colors. Trees and fall leaves were used as decorative accents.

The couple met at the apartment complex where they both lived and their love blossomed. Annie looked wonderful in a strapless dress in ivory satin. Halfway down the gown the skirt revealed a crinoline under-layer that added a little sass to the dress. Pearls were the jewel of choice with a pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings. A fascinator in the bride’s hair replaced a traditional veil. Turning over open-toed shoes revealed the declaration “I Do” in crystal lettering. A burnt orange and red bouquet of flowers gave the ceremony a beautiful autumn feel. The bridesmaids also added color with alternating dresses. Half of the bridesmaids wore purple strapless above-the-knee dresses while the other half wore floor-length black strapless dresses. All the bridesmaids had similar bouquets.

The groom wore a white tie and white vest with a black shirt and black tuxedo. The groomsmen also wore black shirts, but had purple ties and vests. The father of the groom stood out with a white shirt and black tie.

The couple chose a sand ceremony to symbolize the shifting nature of love and relationships. Purple and black sands were poured over one another. Modern technology allowed for the couple’s grandmother to join them via Skype because she was unable to attend the ceremony in person.

During the reception, guests were asked to use colored paints to personalize a tree that had been drawn. Fingerprints became leaves and guests’ names were added. Names of trees were used for table numbers.

The couple chose Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years for their first dance. Annie and Joe looked beautiful together. A signature Villa Siena sparkler farewell ended the night.

Congratulations Annie and Joe. We wish love and happiness.
