Brie and Brandon met early one morning working out at a New York Sports Club in New York City. The groom later joked that there were not that many ‘lady,’ choices at 4:30 a.m. The couple married September 19, 2015. Instead of a guest book for friends and family, the couple created a time capsule.
For her wedding the Brie wore a gown from Allure Bridal. The dress was silk with beading on the straps with an open back that exposed her tattoo. Her hair was worn in an up-do with a diamond fascinator. Under the dress was a pair of silver glittery shoes. Her twin sister and maid of honor wore a plum colored gown from Watters & Watters. Brandon wore a dark grey tuxedo with a grey vest, white shirt and plum colored striped tie with purple patent leather shoes while his groomsmen were in light grey tuxedos with purple bowties.
To announce the beginning of the wedding a guitarist played. Brie’s mother and father escorted her down the aisle. To commemorate the occasion, the couple put their vows in a wooden chest that Brandon built with the thought of reading them to each other in a year’s time. As part of her vows, Brie even promised to make dinner without asking Brandon what he wants.
The couple’s first dance was to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. At the end everyone got up and danced. This was followed by the Father & Daughter song to I Loved Her First by Heartland and the Mother & Son dance to Do I Make You Proud by Taylor Hicks. The night ended with Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York as many of the guests had flown in from the east coast.
During speeches, the best man and Brandon’s little brother joked about how crazy it was that people would travel so far for sunshine and a bar. The maid of honor and Brie’s twin sister talked about how Brie is the ‘baby’ of the family and how hard it was for her when Brie moved to Arizona. Afterwards Brandon told the family “I’m taking care of your baby girl.” Before the couple moved to Arizona, Brandon had asked for her parent’s blessing and on the night of their wedding Brandon called for a sister blessing. Brie’s uncle told all gathered what huge hearts Brie and Brandon have.
The wedding cake featured three tiers of square cake with a purple bow around the middle layer. The cake topper was two hearts intertwined. Along with cake Sub-Zero was served for dessert. The couple donated to a charity in lieu of favors.
Congratulations Brie and Brandon. May you continue to bring light and laughter to each other’s lives. We wish you the best.
