Candace and Matthew met at the bride’s uncle’s wedding. When Matt expressed his interest, Candace’s uncle arranged to get her phone number for Matt. The couple married November 6, 2015.
The wedding ceremony took place in a church. The bridesmaids were dressed in black satin gowns from David’s Bridal. Candace was the center of all attention in a fitted strapless lace gown with a cathedral length train. Her shoes had intricate crystal detailing. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies and pale white and pink assorted flowers. Matthew wore a black tuxedo with a white shirt, white tie and white vests while his groomsmen were dressed in black tuxedos with black ties and black vests.
Guests found their way to their tables with personalized baseball tickets that served as place cards.
During speeches the father of the bride talked about how they made up their daughter’s name by bribing doctors with candy (Candace) and how Candace made the best choice she could by picking Matt to spend the rest of her life with. Candace’s grandfather talked about going to Candace’s dance recitals when she was younger. The groom’s brother laughed about how they have been kicking each other’s butts since they were in the womb but how strong their bond is.
After speeches came dessert. The wedding cake was three tiers of champagne colored fondant with piping details and white roses. The guests got to vote as to whether the bride or groom would get cake shoved in his or her face.
The first dance was Die a Happy Man by Thomas Rhett followed by Dude Looks Like a Lady and My Girl for the father & daughter dance and Happened in a Heartbeat by Teresa James.
The bride hand wrote personalized thank you cards for each guest. Congratulations Candace and Matthew. May your love remain as strong and true as when you first fell in love. We wish you the best.
