Cecily and Blake, who met when she coached his younger sister’s basketball team, were wed on February 15, 2024.
Cecily looked gorgeous in a fit-and-flare gown with long lace illusion sleeves, an embroidered overlay and a skirt with a train. Her accessories included drop earrings and a full-length veil. Her cascade-style bouquet included sunflowers, roses in shades of blue and purple, and other flowers. Her six bridesmaids wore individual dresses in tones of plum and burgundy. They carried modified versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Blake got married in a purple jacket, black trousers, black shirt, purple bow tie, purple pocket square, and lily and rose boutonniere. His six groomsmen wore black suits with black vests, black shirts, purple ties, purple pocket squares, and purple lily boutonnieres.
During the ceremony, the officiant spoke about how to live a happy life.
Next, guests enjoyed a dinner of crunchy elote salad with lime vinaigrette; chicken fajitas with caramelized onions and peppers; chicken enchiladas; and Spanish rice and beans.
In the toasts, the best man said how happy he was for the couple. The maid of honor talked about her sister is all grown up now. The groom’s father spoke about how Cecily started off as a coach and is now part of their family.
Blake and Cecily’s first dance as man and wife was to “Unforgettable” by Natalie Cole.
Other wedding fun included games, a bouquet and garter toss, a photobooth, and more.
The two-tier wedding cake had a bottom layer done in purple with a brushed effect and gold accents, and a top layer in white with gold leaf around the top. The cake was topped with a “Mr. & Mrs.” ornament.
We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of love and happiness!
