Christina and Paul met while on a hockey team together, became friends, and were eventually husband and wife on Saturday, April 9.

Christina modeled an Enzoani wedding dress with a semi-sweetheart neckline and ballgown skirt made of ivory-colored satin – adding a pearl-beaded belt and navy Nina heels. She held a posy bouquet of soft pink roses, and her seven bridesmaids clutched small bouquets of white roses. The bridesmaids donned navy ensembles, ranging from tea-length satin dresses to sequin sheath gowns.

Paul sported a three-piece navy suit with a white dress shirt, dove gray tie and pocket square, and a soft pink rose pinned to his lapel. His seven groomsmen all wore dove gray, three-piece suits with navy neckties and white roses on the lapel.

The outdoor wedding ceremony was held at the end of a white carpet sprinkled with light pink rose petals. The groom and sister sang before the ceremony, which was followed by a reading by family members. The couple talked about their shared hockey fandom and their three-year friendship, and how happiness is something they create together. Through their union in the years to come, they will be able to say they lived their best lives because of each other.

A buffet dinner followed with strawberry vinaigrette over salad, plus chicken and fish with potatoes au gratin and mixed vegetables. The three-tiered wedding cake was vanilla flavored with raspberry filling, layered with white, detailed frosting with satin navy ribbons at the base of each layer.

During toasts, the Maid of Honor talked about her and the bride’s “just say yes” attitudes from margaritas to mechanical bulls. The Best Man knew the groom from Eagle Scouts, and talked about how they were two big terrors. He expressed how Paul would happily drive a mini van (though he’s a crazy driver), and any task you ask of him will be done and well – but the timing is questionable. The parents then thanked the attendees.

Christina and Paul’s First Dance was to Dan + Shay’s “From The Ground Up.” The Father/Daughter Dance was to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, and the Mother/Son Dance was to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.

Guests also received monogrammed navy Hershey’s Kisses, and the bride’s aunts made cookies for three weeks because as Christina says, “Love is sweet, have a treat.”

Christina and Paul left under the signature sparkler farewell, and were given best wishes.
