Courtney and Jacob combined ivory and mauve, succulents, Cinderella pumpkins and gold sparkles and roses and peonies to create a warm fall theme for their brunch. The couple met in high school where they shared a mutual crush on one another. Their love for one another carried on throughout the years until October 20, 2014 when they were married. As Courtney mentioned, she always knew Jacob was the one. Before the ceremony a wedding prayer was said.
The bridal party included the bride’s B.F.F., Kyle, who was the man of honor. The flower girls wore tutus and pink shirts. On the back of Courtney’s father’s tie was stitched a heart with the words ‘Dad, I loved you first,’ with their date of marriage.
Both Courtney’s mother and father walked her down the aisle. Her ivory gown was simple and stunning with a bow across the top and crystals while her hair was in an up-do with a flower fascinator. The groom wore a dark grey suit with a gold tie and vest. The bridesmaid’s dresses were in different colors and different styles. The groomsmen were more uniform in light grey tuxedos.
A newsletter told guests of their love story. For the ceremony, the couple wrote their own vows, which included the advice “Never grow too old to hold hands” and “you are two people with only one life ahead of you.” A unity tree ceremony was held where the bride and groom both added water to a plant.
For the wedding brunch, a build your own omelet bar was available along with waffles, bagels and fruit. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, a three tiered waffle cake was served with whipped cream to hold the layers together, fresh fruits and ‘best day ever’ flags on top. Along with the waffle cake, red velvet cupcakes were served.
During the speeches, the best man Steven, who is a long time friend of Jacob’s, brought to light numbers and dates, in keeping with his accountant background. Courtney was proclaimed number one while the father of the groom made it clear he wants a lot of grandkids. Turns out the father of the bride, groom and mother of the bride all share the same birthday of January 23rd.
As guests were leaving they held balloons as the newlyweds walked by. The groom stopped to give his bride a great big smooch on the way out. Congratulations Courtney and Jacob. May the love you discovered in high school continue to bloom throughout your lives. We wish you the best.
