Gillian and Ryan were married on Sunday, October 23, 2016.
Gillian modeled a Maggie Sottero wedding gown with a floral lace design over a sweetheart neckline, train, and a modified A-line skirt. She also wore a fingertip veil, and clutched a bouquet of red and pink roses with white hydrangeas. Her six bridesmaids held the same bouquets, and donned floor-length gowns that were deep red in color with unique necklines.
Ryan sported a gray, three-piece suit with a white shirt and paisley-patterned bowtie. A white rose ornamented his lapel. His six groomsmen wore dove gray, three-piece suits with deep red bowties and pocket squares.
The outdoor wedding ceremony was held at the end of a plush white carpet drizzled in flower petals. It was said of Gillian and Ryan: “They continue to grow as individuals, and as a couple.” They also performed a sand ceremony.
Dinner started with classic Caesar salads, followed by chicken Galliano stuffed with boursin cheese, soppressata, Portobello mushroom, and roasted tomatoes. There was also beef wellington in a mushroom sauce. The three-tiered wedding cake was white in color with white frosting details, and a dark purple ribbon at the base of each layer. A cluster of white flowers acted as the cake topper.
During toasts, the Best Man (who met Ryan at work and knew he was his best friend when he broke his nose) said he was honored to be the Best Man, and wished them the best. The Maid of Honor said she’s only known the bride for four years, but they connected instantly for life, and her life is better with Gillian in it.
Gillian and Ryan’s First Dance was to “I Won’t Give Up” by John Mayer. The Father/Daughter Dance was to “If Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks, and the Mother/Son Dance was to “Do I Make You Proud” by Taylor Hicks.
Guests were also treated to keys as favors reading, “The key to happiness is love.” That advice certainly worked for Gillian and Ryan, and we wish them all the happiness in the world.
