As March began to bloom Grete and Joe were married at Villa Siena. The bride made a statement as she began her processional to Love Walks in by Van Halen. Grete’s gown, from Nordstrom, was strapless silk with a flair at the bottom. Satin piping edged the bride’s veil. Her shoes were detailed with crystals in an intricate pattern. Dusty lavender roses filled the bridal bouquet. Bridesmaids wore dusty purple floor-length gowns with different style tops. The maid of honor wore a grey gown. All carried bouquets of white and lavender roses.
As a thank you to his groomsmen, Joe bought his closest friends leather and silver engraved flasks. For the wedding the groom wore a grey tuxedo with piping, a grey vest and dusty purple tie. A purple rose and handkerchief added detail to the ensemble. The groomsmen were dressed to match the groom. Even the couple’s dog dressed for the occasion with a bowtie.
After the ceremony guests were invited to find the key that would direct them to their table, which was marked by wine bottles with custom labels. Purple up-lighting shone on the wall of the reception room as did the couple’s name and date of marriage.
To satiate their guest’s sweet tooth, the couple provided a donut table with syringes to inject the donuts with different fillings. Yum! For dessert, a three-tiered square red velvet and vanilla almond cake, frosted with white buttercream and decorated with grey ribbon and purple sugar flowers was served. Those that wanted to dance the night away were invited to kick off their shoes and enjoy a pair of flip-flops provided by the newlyweds.
During speeches the best man shared stories about growing up together and noted how proud he was of his brother. The couple’s first dance was to You’re My Soul & Inspiration by the Righteous Brothers.
Personalized matches served to light cigars from the cigar bar and to light sparklers for the signature sparkler farewell at the end of the night. Favors were purple, grey and white M&Ms that were embossed with “just married” on them and were presented in small tins. Congratulations Grete and Joe. May you continue to inspire one another throughout your lives together. We wish you the best.
