High school sweethearts Irena and Matthew were married on June 10, 2017.
Irena selected a dramatic fit-and-flare gown with cap sleeves, plunging neckline, rhinestone belt, and illusion skirt accented with lace. She accessorized with drop earrings, a jeweled hairpiece, and a long veil. Her all-white bouquet was tied with a white ribbon. Her maid of honor wore a full-length black halter dress with an illusion neckline and beaded bodice; her three bridesmaids wore coordinating full-length sparkly dresses in tones of champagne. They all carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Matthew got married in a classic black tuxedo with black bow tie and white flower boutonniere. His four groomsmen dressed to match the groom.
During the ceremony, the officiant told the couple that two are better than one, and that they were joined by God. Irena told Matthew that if they could make it through calculus class, they could make it through anything, and Matthew said a line in Russian to his bride.
Inside at the reception, guests enjoyed a meal of caprese salad with red and yellow pear tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, balsamic basil vinaigrette, and mixed greens; sauteed chicken breast with lemon beurre blanc sauce, mushrooms, pancetta, artichoke hearts, and capers; grilled Atlantic salmon with lemon dill beurre blanc sauce, Hollandaise sauce, creme fraiche, and caviar; potatoes au gratin; and assorted grilled vegetables.
During the speeches, Irena’s mother told the newlyweds that patience and love are essential parts of marriage, and Matthew’s parents told them that they will grow and change together.
The three-tiered wedding cake was done in all white with white flower detail. The bottom tier was emblazoned with the wedding date in Roman numerals; the middle tier had a quilted pattern, and the couple’s last initial graced the top tier.
Matthew and Irena left the reception under the signature sparkler send-off.
We wish them nothing but the best in their new life together!
