On November 23, 2012, Julie and Patrong tied the knot at Villa Siena, literally. As part of the couple’s ceremony, they tied a knot to indicate the interconnectedness of marriage as well as the strength needed for a successful day. A fisherman’s knot represents the past, present and future of the couple. While one of the simplest knots to tie, the fisherman’s knot is also the strongest.
Julie was a stunning bride in a strapless, ruffled dress with an all-white bouquet of flowers. She had sandals that fastened around the ankle with a soft gauze rose. For jewelry, the bride wore only a necklace with her hair pulled back. The bride’s look was soft and dreamy and Patrong’s choice of tuxedo was a great compliment to her look. Patrong wore a light grey tux with a patterned tie and sneakers. The groomsmen were also in grey while the bridesmaids wore purple floor-length dresses with a rope sash over one shoulder. The bridesmaids had bouquets of purple and white flowers.
For the ceremony, the fireplace and altar glowed with candles of all sizes interspersed. To announce the beginning of the ceremony, the maid of honor’s son walked down the aisle before the bride pulling a wagon with a sign that read Here Comes the Bride.
After the wedding, guests were invited to a cocktail hour before the formal dinner. Pictures of the couple were set out around the area. At the sign-in table, a caricature of the couple sat in a frame. During dinner guests were able to enjoy the beautiful centerpieces of orchids in vases with rocks holding them in. Votive candles were hung from the branches. After dinner, the dancing began. The couple and the guests let loose to dance music, disco and Asian music. The smiles and laughter continued as Patrong’s brother gave a toast warning Julie not to learn golf from Patrong.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple chose a table of desserts including pies and cakes of different flavors.
Congratulations Patrong and Julie. May you have a happy, healthy and fulfilling life together.
