Kayla and Tom met through mutual friends at Coachella, hit it off, and were married on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
Kayla modeled a gown from the local Almond Tree Wedding Boutique with a semi-sweetheart neckline and ruffled ballgown skirt – accented with silver heels and a silver bedazzled belt. Her four bridesmaids donned soft pink, tea-length gowns with distinct necklines and nude heels. The bridal party held unique bouquets of yellow and green billy balls, roses, hydrangeas, and succulents.
Tom sported a navy, two-piece suit with a white dress shirt and green necktie – his lapel ornamented with two yellow billy balls and his tie with a silver tie clip. His four groomsmen wore blue slacks and matching vests with white dress shits and soft pink ties.
The outdoor ceremony was officiated by one of the groomsmen, who recalled the days when Tom used to talk about how much he liked Kayla after they first met. He also expressed how they are both passionate about their lives and each other, and how their love is ever growing, and what makes their house a home. Tom’s parents then welcomed Kayla to the family, and the Mother of the Bride read a poem about marriage.
A buffet dinner followed, offering salads of mixed greens with julienned carrots and pear tomatoes, and later creamy mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, braised beef short ribs, and grilled chicken breast.
The three-tiered, rounded white wedding cake came adorned in succulents and yellow roses, embossed with a large “M” on the top layer. A candy table of yellow and green Starburst, M&M’S, Lemonheads, and taffy was also available to guests.
During toasts, the Maid of Honor said she was proud to be the sister of the bride, and expressed her love for Tom and “Kay Kay.” Kayla’s other sister Carissa said how Kayla has always been her best friend, and she knew Tom was perfect for her since the beginning. Tom’s best friend spoke, saying how he could always go to Tom for advice, and how beautiful it’s been to see this relationship bloom. Tom’s sister Macy said it has been an honor being his older sister, and how perfect the couple is for each other. Tom’s dad thanked Kayla for joining the family, while Kayla’s father thanked the guests for coming.
Kayla and Tom’s first dance was to “Make It To Me” by Sam Smith, and the Father/Daughter Dance was to “When You Need Me” by Bruce Springsteen. Many memories were captured with the hashtag #minorwedding2016.
We wish all the best for Kayla and Tom!
