September 6, 2013 Kelly and Matthew were married at Villa Siena. The couple chose an indoor wedding ceremony held in the Chianciano room, which offered an intimate setting. The edges of the aisle were sprinkled with white petals.
Matthew waited for his bride in a black tuxedo with piping, a blue vest and tie. His groomsmen wore black vests with blue ties. As the bridesmaids made their way out in black dresses with a single shoulder strap they carried bouquets of white roses. Anticipation built until Kelly made her big entrance. She looked stunning in a fitted strapless dress with rouching across the waist. For the ceremony a lace and sequined toplet worn over her dress created a more conservative look. The bride’s hair was worn in an up-do with a headband and veil. Sparkle was added with a diamond necklace and bracelet. Strappy shoes finished the ensemble. Kelly carried a bouquet of white roses and blue and purple orchids.
The couple made a unity cross for their unity ceremony. The wedding went off beautifully before fun was to be had by all at the reception. Tables were set with black tablecloths and centerpieces of blue and purple floating orchids with votive candles glowed on top.
Matthew’s mother brought a bottle of champagne with the San Francisco Giants’ logo on the front. The head table shared the bottle.
A canvas set by the guestbook had the lyrics of the couple’s first song, I Do by Paul Brandt as well as a picture of Kelly and Matthew. Afterwards the father/daughter dance was followed by Matthew and his mother having a moment on the dance floor. Then guests joined in with an Anniversary dance where couples are weeded out until the couple that has been together the longest remains on the dance floor.
After that the newlyweds spiced up the night with a garter toss.
For dessert, a three-tiered vanilla cake with champagne and fresh strawberry filling was served as well as a chocolate cake with carrot cake filling on one tier. The cake had blue ribbon and decorative detailing on each layer with fresh orchids. A ‘C’ topped the cake while a ceramic bride and groom relaxed on the second tier of the cake, looking just as in love as the real couple. Favors were assorted purple and blue candy in a box tied with a bow.
Congratulations Kelly and Matthew. May the rest of your lives together flower from the love planted on your wedding day.
