Kerrin & Steven ~ February 9, 2013

February 9, 2013 marked a celebration of love as Kerrin and Steven joined together as man and wife. The day was filled with joy as the couple that originally met in college exchanged wedding vows.

In preparation for rehearsal the day before the wedding, Steven’s mother made a bouquet for Kerrin from the bows off of her bridal shower gifts, which has become a well-known tradition to many. She also made cigar boutonnières for the groomsmen. The children participating in the wedding were not forgotten as the mother of the groom offered a candy sign for the ring bearer to practice with and a flower basket filled with candy for the flower girls.

The day of the wedding held another surprise as the ring bearer walked down the aisle with a sign that read ‘Uncle Steve, here comes your girl.’ ‘Uncle Steve’ was ready in a black tuxedo with blue tie. Next to him were his groomsmen also in tuxedos but with salmon pink ties.

When Kerrin made her big entrance, all eyes were on her in a fitted strapless wedding gown with a mermaid flair at the bottom. The sweetheart neck followed into beaded detailing that finished in a crystal beaded belt. The skirt of the dress was satin. Under the gown, rested a lace garter with blue ribbon. The bride’s hair was swept back in a half up-do with long blonde curls flowing down. Her bouquet for the wedding day was filled with pink and white roses and white hydrangeas. The bridesmaids wore blue above-the-knee dresses with a halter strap and their hair up.

Weather shifted and rains shortened the ceremony, moving everyone inside for the reception. The couple was introduced as Mr. & Mrs. to the Star Wars theme song. They then took to the dance floor for Chris Isaac’s Can’t Help Falling in Love, followed by the father/daughter dance to Daddy’s Little Girl. Then the fun began with a bridal party dance to I Got a Feelin by the Black Eyed Peas.

During the night guests were invited to sign four wine bottles that would be saved for each milestone anniversary. The bride and groom thanked everyone for coming. Speeches touched on the importance of family and friends. The wedding cake was red velvet with cream cheese frosting and chocolate cake with butter cream frosting. The four-tiered cake was decorated with crystals and blue fondant ribbon. Sparklers and custom matches were the favors that were used to light their way to the future in Villa Siena’s traditional sparkler send off.

Congratulations Kerrin and Steven. We wish you a memorable and celebratory life together.
