Friends are often the best way to meet your true love and such was the case with Kristen and Lamec who met at a friend’s birthday party two years ago. The couple lit a unity candle to create one brighter flame from two candles that represented their two lives as one.
For the wedding, Kristen chose a stunning fitted strapless dress with embroidery and a train. Slight sequined detailing glittered in the light, as did the crystal belt that wrapped the dress. The bride’s shoes had a crystal pattern. Underneath the dress, satin shoes with a crystal pattern hid. Kristen’s bridesmaids wore pale pink strapless dresses with a satin ribbon at an empire waist. The bride opted for a drop bouquet filled with pale pink roses, orchids and hydrangeas while her bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the same bouquet. Lamec wore a traditional black tuxedo but added his own personality with red racecar cufflinks. His groomsmen also wore black tuxedos with grey bowties while the groom had a black bowtie.
Guests were encouraged to fill out Madlibs offering the couple quirky advice and a few good laughs. The welcome table was filled with pictures of Kristen and Lamec from childhood on.
The wedding ceremony was held indoors with the aisle lined with candles and rose petals. In his speech, the father of the bride thanked everyone for coming.
Instead of a traditional guest book for friends and family to sign, the couple used a photobooth for pictures of everyone for their guest book. Favors were coffee beans from Honduras.
While the cake was a sweet delight, it couldn’t steal the sweetness that was shared between the newlyweds. The three-tiered wedding cake had a rhinestone ribbon around each layer with a plain top tier and decorative piping on the second and third layers.
