LaDawn and Mike met at Comicon, and were married on March 9, 2017.
LaDawn wore a romantic white sleeveless gown with an illusion neckline and lace flower detailing, and a hip-length veil. Her bouquet featured several varieties of white flowers wrapped with a white ribbon. Her three bridesmaids wore silver floor-length dresses tied with black ribbons at the waist, and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Mike chose a black three-piece suit with a black shirt and silver tie, vest, and pocket square. His three groomsmen wore black suits with black shirts and silver ties.
LaDawn walked down an aisle laid with red carpet lined with white rose petals and white candles in jars. The officiant told the couple that marriage meets one of the greatest needs in life — the need for a relationship with someone.

At the reception, guests ate a meal of mushroom chicken with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, and salad.
During the speeches, family and friends talked about how they’d never seen a couple so compatible, and how they hope LaDawn and Mike’s love lasts as long as their Nerf gun wars. The newlyweds thanked their guests for coming.
Mike and LaDawn danced their first dance as a married couple to “At the Beginning With You.”
The wedding cake reflected the couple’s love of superheroes — the three-tiered creation featured designs in white with a black ribbon around the base of each tier in the front, but in the back, each tier had a different superhero logo: Loki, Cobra from G.I. Joe, and Green Lantern.
