Lisa & Tom ~ December 31, 2015

New-Years-Eve-Villa-Siena (23)Lisa and Tom met at a bar called Bobby McGee’s through mutual friends. The couple was introduced in 2002 and has been together ever since. They were engaged in Costa Rica on December 31, 2014 and married December 31, 2015.

The ceremony began with a string quartet playing. Guests were invited to have a snack, hot tea, coffee or cocoa before the ceremony. The day was cool and blankets were also available to keep people warm.

Lisa wore a birdcage veil and a faux fur sweaterlet over her gown. The bride’s dress showcased rouching across the front with beaded pick-ups throughout the train. The bride had silver strappy shoes for the ceremony as well as silver glittery Converse sneakers for the reception. The cascading bridal bouquet was of white orchids, calla lilies and roses. Tom chose a grey tuxedo with vest, black tie and white shirt. The groomsmen were in black suits with black vests, white shirts and black ties. Lisa’s bridesmaids’ dresses consisted of mauve high-low gowns with beading around the neckline. To accessorize the ensemble, they wore faux fur shawls and Nine West heels in a snake print pattern.

After the wedding was cocktail hour. Throughout the reception lemon water and snacks were available for guests while hot drinks were aplenty to keep guests warm. Centerpieces were artistic sculptures and vases, each one unique. For the wedding party’s grand entrance the DJ read personal and funny introductions for each person in the wedding party, which were written by the bride and groom.

For the first dance as husband and wife, Etta James’ At Last played. Afterwards Lisa and her father danced to My Wish by Rascal Flatts and then Tom and his mother danced to Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart.

There was a photo booth to record happy memories throughout the night. One of the most unique details of the wedding was the life-size chessboard that people could play. The cake was white fondant with gold diamonds circling each tier and favors were hangover kits with late night snacks and water bottles.

Congratulations Lisa and Tom. May your lives together be a game where you both win. We wish you the best.
