A Beautiful Beginning for a Beautiful Family
When Marleene and Jake were married last October, they were officially creating a new little family: Jake, Marleene, and her sweet daughter Ava. We were determined to start this new chapter in their lives with the perfect celebration!
Jake and Marleene’s wedding was a chic and sophisticated affair with a classy black and white color scheme.
The bridesmaids wore stunning black off-the-shoulder gowns, while Jake and his groomsmen wore timeless black suits with black bow ties (Jake also wore a white rose boutonniere as a finishing touch).
Marleene looked especially lovely in her lacy mermaid-style gown, complete with mock sleeves (that matched Ava’s adorable bridesmaid’s dress) and a cathedral length veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, with a few light pink blossoms sprinkled in for a sweet, feminine flair. When she walked down that aisle, every face had a big, beaming smile — especially Jake’s!
The couple had a traditional wedding ceremony accompanied by a string quartet. They said their vows, exchanged rings, and were officially declared husband and wife — much to the delight of their guests. Then it was time for the reception: an evening of fun where everyone would (to quote the groom) “get weird.”
As guests found their seats in the reception area, Marleene and Jake shared their first dance to Dan & Shay’s “Ground Up.” The couple also shared sweet dances with each of their parents, and Jake even performed a special dance with his new step daughter to Bob Carlisle’s “Butterfly Kisses.” Guests enjoyed a spring mix salad with strawberries and apples, as well as beef tenderloin and grilled chicken with herbs.
Everyone munched, mingled, and danced the night away — and when it was time to bid this new family goodnight, guests gave them a gorgeous sparkler exit!
It was a truly beautiful wedding, and we hope that Jake, Marleene, and Ava remember this day forever as one of the happiest days of their lives!
