Megan and Derek, who met through mutual friends, were married on December 12, 2017.
Megan chose an elegant drop-waist strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline, beaded bodice, and full skirt. Her accessories included drop earrings and a hip-length veil. Her bouquet was composed of all-white flowers accented with botanical elements. Her three bridesmaids wore silver full length dresses with a deep blue tulle overlay. They carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Derek looked sharp in a dark gray suit with a light gray vest, white shirt, plaid tie, and plaid pocket square. His groomsmen wore gray suits with white shirts, black ties, and black pocket squares.
The couple met and how Derek proposed. There was a string quartet, and when the couple were pronounced man and wife, the guests rang bells.
At the reception, guests enjoyed a meal that included Caesar salad and chicken stuffed with prosciutto. There was also a hot chocolate station.
During the speeches, one of the groomsmen had the guests stand up to cheer the newlyweds. The maid of honor, Megan’s older sister, talked about how Derek would take care of his new wife.
Megan and Derek’s first dance was to “Then” by Brad Paisley. Megan and her father danced to “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty, and Derek and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
The three-tier wedding cake had a blue ombre ruffle bottom, and was decorated with silver branches and snowflakes and topped with a bride and groom ornament.
Megan and Derek left their wedding under the signature sparkler send-off.
We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
