Megan and Matthew originally met through a mutual friend. Their love together grew but didn’t become official until June 8, 2013 when they were married at Villa Siena. The couple chose an indoor wedding ceremony in the Chianciano room. With white petals lining the aisles, a centerpiece of flowers over the altar and candles burning, the atmosphere was one of simplicity and beauty.
During the ceremony a violinist and cellist played. As the bridal party walked down the aisle in strapless knee-length dresses, Canon in D filled the air. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for as Megan appeared. The Wedding March played, as Megan’s father walked her down the aisle. The bride chose a lace gown with elbow-length sleeves. The soft flowing gown finished in a train. Megan’s hair was worn in a half up-do with veil of silk tulle.
Matthew waited for his bride with a smile so genuine you couldn’t help but share in the couple’s joy. The groom wore a black tuxedo with black tie, white shirt and white handkerchief. The groomsmen wore blue vests and ties with black tuxedos.
Instead of lighting a unity candle the couple shared a glass of wine. After the ceremony ended, guests were invited to leave their thumbprints on a thumbprint tree, which had a note to guests ‘please leaf your fingerprint on a branch, then sign your name below so in the years to come we know who helped our marriage grow.’
Congratulations Megan and Matthew. May you share a lifetime of love, laughter, compassion and friendship.
